It is a great pleasure to join you in Hollywood, “the world’s film capital”, via video link. First, I would like to thank all of you for supporting the “Bright Future of Humanity” Global AI Visual Works Call-for-Submissions event.

As we speak, the intelligent revolution is sweeping across the world. With its explosive growth, AI technology is empowering various industries and entering households. Infinite possibilities are unfolding when the film and TV industry meets AI. How can we ensure AI truly empowers the industry and benefits humanity? Let me share with you three thoughts.
当前，全球智能化浪潮风起云涌，人工智能技术迎来爆发式发展，开始融入千行百业、走进千家万户。当电影电视遇到人工智能，正碰撞出耀眼火花，带来无限新的可能。为确保人工智能赋能影视、造福人类，同大家分享三点建议：
We need to keep abreast with the times, and embrace the transformation of the industry. From “Avatar” and “The Avengers”, to “Ne Zha2” and “The Wandering Earth”, AI technology has been applied in visual effects, content editing, character creation and more, setting imagination free, boosting efficiency and sparking ingenuity. The KlingAI platform now supports a global community of over 45 million content creators and has generated over 200 million videos. “The Mystery of Greater KhinganRange”, China’s first fully AI-generated fantasy micro-series, racked up more than 35 million views in just three days after the release. AI keeps pushing the boundaries of film and TV production, creates immense artistic, scientific and commercial value, and is unlocking tremendous potential.
我们要顺应潮流，把握光影变革新机。从《阿凡达》《复仇者联盟》，到《哪吒2》《流浪地球》等经典影视作品，人工智能技术已应用到视觉特效、内容剪辑、角色创造等环节，促进想象的解放、效率的跃升、创作的奔涌。人工智能视频平台“可灵”汇聚超4500万创作者，生成视频超2亿条。中国首部纯人工智能短剧《兴安岭诡事》上线3天内播放量突破3500万。人工智能拓展影视创作边界，创造出耀眼的艺术、科技和商业价值，无限潜力正在不断释放。
We need to remain open, pursue shared development, and enhance cooperation on innovation. In 1994, the first imported US movie “The Fugitive” became an instant big hit in China. Over the past three decades, Hollywood blockbusters such as “Titanic” and “Transformers” have long been box office smashes. China’s box office exceeded 5.8 billion US dollars last year, and reached 4 billion in the first half of this year, growing over 20% year-over-year. All these numbers speak of the vast consumption potential and strong market vitality of the film industry. As two leading nations in AI technology and film and TV production, China and the US need to join hands as these two integrate with each other, strengthen exchanges between businesses and professionals, conduct joint research, and together achieve more breakthroughs in both technology and art.
我们要开放共享，加大创新合作力度。自1994年引入首部美国影片《亡命天涯》震撼中国观众，30多年来《泰坦尼克号》《变形金刚》等好莱坞大片长期是高票房的代名词。去年中国电影票房超58亿美元，今年上半年达40亿美元，同比增长逾20%，电影市场拥有巨大消费潜力和市场活力。中美同为人工智能和影视创作大国，在二者交融互促的历史进程中应当携起手来，加强企业人才交流，联合开展技术攻关，培育更多突破性的科技和艺术硕果。
We need to collaborate on governance and jointly address challenges of the intelligent age. As AI deeply integrates with film and TV production, risks such as deepfake, copyright infringement and data leakage are emerging. As Director Christopher Nolan warned, we may face AI’s “Oppenheimer moment”. AI governance has become a pressing challenge that calls for international cooperation. In 2023, President Xi Jinping put forward the Global AI Governance Initiative, outlining a blueprint and charting the course for global AI governance. Not long ago, Premier Li Qiang proposed setting up a global AI cooperation organization on behalf of the Chinese government, so as to help bridge the AI divide, unleash the dividends of AI, and ensure AI for good.
我们要协同共治，应对智能时代挑战。随着人工智能与影视创作深度融合，深度伪造、侵犯版权、数据泄露等风险若隐若现。诺兰导演警示，我们可能面临人工智能的“奥本海默时刻”，人工智能治理已成为各国必须携手面对的紧迫课题。2023年，习近平主席提出《全球人工智能治理倡议》，为人工智能全球治理擘画蓝图、指明方向。不久前，李强总理代表中国政府倡议成立世界人工智能合作组织，助力弥合智能鸿沟，释放智能红利，确保智能向善。

各位朋友，
Art serves as a clarion call for progress in every age; it best captures an era and also shapes the trends of the times. AI is a common asset of humanity, and where it will head bears on the future of all. No one should create another development divide by splitting the world into tiers, and granting access to the technology to countries that are “close” while denying access to others. The whole of humanity will lose in a new tech Cold War. The theme of this event, “AI and Bright Future of Humanity”, reflects the common aspiration to jointly develop and share the dividends of AI and move toward a better intelligent future. It is my hope that AI and film and TV production will reinforce each other, foster new engines of economic growth, advocate for what is true, good and beautiful, and bring countries together to find the greatest common ground.
文艺是时代前进的号角，最能代表一个时代的风貌，最能引领一个时代的风气。人工智能是人类的共同财富，何去何从攸关全人类命运，不能搞“三六九等”“远近亲疏”制造新的发展鸿沟，发起“科技新冷战”失败者将是整个人类。本次征集活动以“AI与人类的美好未来”为主题，反映出共商共建共享人工智能、走向更美好智能未来的共同心声。期待人工智能与影视创作强强联合，成为经济增长的新引擎，唱响真善美的主旋律，画出各国最大同心圆。
People are both the protagonists and screenwriters of history. I believe that with the passion and joint efforts of our two peoples, the new mode of AI-empowered film and TV production will surely provide new impetus for cultural exchanges and mutual learning, bring new opportunities for common prosperity between China and the U.S., inject new momentum into bilateral relations, and open up new horizons for a brighter future of humanity.
人民是历史的“剧中人”，也是历史的“剧作者”。相信人工智能影视创作这一新业态，在两国人民的热情参与和共同浇灌下，必将为文化交流互鉴提供新助力，为两国共同繁荣带来新机遇，为中美关系发展注入新动力，绘就人类社会更加美好未来的新图景。
