如何翻译“杨绛先生”和“最贤的妻， 最才的女”？
之前有学员问我“杨绛先生”怎么翻译？要不要加Mr.？之前专门写过一个答疑的文章，但是那个公众号注销了，今天就再跟大家说说这个的翻译。
首先，我们要知道“先生”指什么？
尊称，表示恭敬的称呼，在不同的时期可能会稍有不同的外延，但基本是对有一定地位与身份的人的一种尊称。都是用于称呼男性，例如称呼男性：船山先生；也有用于称呼有较高学识与地位的女性，例如称呼女性：李清照先生、张爱玲先生、杨绛先生、吴怡凡先生、吴健雄先生。
通过这个说法，我们可以看到，以前“先生”可以用于称呼有较高学识与地位的女性，现在基本不这样使用了。可见，只是个尊敬的称呼，但是英语里面的Mr.只能指男性。
