近几年不少学校都喜欢考白皮书的翻译，高斋官网上有报告和白皮书专栏，都是整理好的双语对照版，看起来很方便。这篇是考生回忆版，试题可能会有删减或改动。
在中国抗击新冠肺炎疫情最紧要的时刻，来自中国全国各地驰援湖北的4万多名医护人员中，三分之二是女性。有一位来自广东省的小护士还不满20岁。记者问她，你还是一个孩子，还需要别人帮助。她回答说，穿上防护服，我就不是孩子了。这段对话感动了整个中国！正是成千上万这样的中国女性，白衣执甲，逆行而上，以勇气和辛劳诠释了医者仁心，用担当和奉献换来了山河无恙。
In China, at the height of the battle against COVID-19, more than 40,000 health workers from across the country rushed to Hubei province, which was the hardest hit by the virus, and two-thirds of them were women. Among them was a nurse from Guangdong province who had not yet reached the age of 20. Answering a reporter’s question of whether she was too young to help others, she said, “The moment I put on the protective suit, I am not a kid anymore.” Those words moved the whole nation. In fact, many women medical workers in China, like this girl, and in their tens of thousands, have taken on the virus bravely by putting themselves in harm’s way. Their courage and hard work have shown the very best of the medical profession. Their devotion and sacrifice have kept the nation intact through difficult times.
第一句：在中国抗击新冠肺炎疫情最紧要的时刻，来自中国全国各地驰援湖北的4万多名医护人员中，三分之二是女性。
In China, at the height of the battle against COVID-19, more than 40,000 health workers from across the country rushed to Hubei province, which was the hardest hit by the virus, and two-thirds of them were women.
1. at the height of 在……顶点；在鼎盛时期；在…最盛的时候，最关键的时刻。如中国日报上有这么一句话：
在全球抗疫的关键时刻，主席明确指出，病毒没有国界，疫病不分种族。
At the height of this global battle, President Xi sent out this clear message: virus respects no borders and disease doesn’t distinguish between races.
3. rush to some place 前往某地，奔赴某地。如汉英大词典上有这么一句话：
On hearing the alarm the fire brigade rushed to the scene.
Among them was a nurse from Guangdong province who had not yet reached the age of 20.
1. nurse [nɜːrs] n. 护士；（旧时雇主家中的）女保育员，保姆，女仆。如牛津词典上有这么一句话：
Just ring for the nurse if you need her.
2. have not yet done 尚未。如汉英大词典上有这么一句话：
I have not yet given my decision on that matter.
第三、四、五句：记者问她，你还是一个孩子，还需要别人帮助。她回答说，穿上防护服，我就不是孩子了。这段对话感动了整个中国！
Answering a reporter’s question of whether she was too young to help others, she said, “The moment I put on the protective suit, I am not a kid anymore.” Those words moved the whole nation.
1. too +adj. +to do 太……而不能，具体根据语境来理解。如牛津词典上有这么一句话：
He's too young to understand the ways of the world.
2. protective [prəˈtektɪv] adj. 保护的；防护的；出于（对…的）保护；有贸易保护倾向的；实行关税保护的，如牛津词典上有这么一句话：
It is obligatory for all employees to wear protective clothing.
文中protective suit 指的是“防护服”。
3. not anymore 不再。如柯林斯词典上有这么一句话：
People are not interested in movies anymore.
第六句（上）：正是成千上万这样的中国女性，白衣执甲，逆行而上，
In fact, many women medical workers in China, like this girl, and in their tens of thousands, have taken on the virus bravely by putting themselves in harm’s way.
1. in ones’s tens of thousands 成千上万的人。如BBC官网上有这么一句话：
But now China is rising and Chinese tourists flock to North Korea in their tens of thousands.
但现在中国正在崛起，每年有成千上万的中国游客去朝鲜旅游。
2. take on 承担，接受（尤指艰巨工作或重大责任）；呈现，显出；接受…的挑战。如柯林斯词典上有这么一句话：
Miranda has drive and energy to spare and has now taken on an even bigger challenge.
米兰达有使不完的干劲和精力，现在已经接受了一个更大的挑战。
3. put sb in harm’s way 让某人处于危险中，让某人受到伤害。如外文局的词条“最美逆行者”翻译为了heroes who put themselves in harm's way。
第六句（下）：以勇气和辛劳诠释了医者仁心，用担当和奉献换来了山河无恙。
Their courage and hard work have shown the very best of the medical profession. Their devotion and sacrifice have kept the nation intact through difficult times.
1. the very best of the medical profession 医者仁心。
2. sacrifice [ˈsækrɪfaɪs] n. 牺牲；献出；以（人或动物）作祭献。如华盛顿邮报上有这么一句话：
Many are here today, and for their service and their sacrifice, we owe them our everlasting gratitude.
其中很多人今天在座，我们对他们的服务和奉献永远感激不尽。
3. intact [ɪnˈtækt] adj. 完好无损；完整。如汉英大词典上有这么一句话：
When a bird's nest is overturned, no egg can remain intact.
25年来，北京世界妇女大会精神不断催生积极变化。妇女社会地位显著提高，“半边天”作用日益彰显，性别平等和妇女赋权已成为《联合国2030年可持续发展议程》的重要目标。
Over the past 25 years, the powerful message of the Fourth World Conference on Women held in Beijing has unleashed many positive changes. The social status of women is significantly higher. Increasingly women are playing an important role of “supporting half of the sky”. Indeed, gender equality and women’s empowerment are now important goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
第一句：25年来，北京世界妇女大会精神不断催生积极变化。
Over the past 25 years, the powerful message of the Fourth World Conference on Women held in Beijing has unleashed many positive changes.
1. the Fourth World Conference on Women 第四届世界妇女大会。
2. unleash [ʌnˈliːʃ] v. 发泄；释放；使爆发，催生，带来。如经济学人上有这么一句话：
Sizwe's life and success feel precarious, and who knows what testing positive might unleash?
希兹维的生活和那点成就随时都有可能遭到威胁，谁知道检测呈阳性会带来什么样的后果？
第二句：妇女社会地位显著提高，“半边天”作用日益彰显，性别平等和妇女赋权已成为《联合国2030年可持续发展议程》的重要目标。
The social status of women is significantly higher. Increasingly women are playing an important role of “supporting half of the sky”. Indeed, gender equality and women’s empowerment are now important goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
1. social status 社会地位。如柯林斯词典上有这么一句话：
Social status is largely determined by the occupation of the main breadwinner.
2. gender equality 性别平等。如世卫组织官网上有这么一句话：
But the birth rate is also connected to education and gender equality.
3. empowerment [ɪmˈpaʊərmənt] n. 授权。如柯林斯词典上有这么一句话：
This government believes very strongly in the empowerment of women.
4. the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development《联合国2030年可持续发展议程》。
